I Want Results Now!!

I know it can be so frustrating when you don’t see immediate results from your new healthy lifestyle. We want to reach our goals so badly and it’s hard to be patient through the process. Believe me, I have felt that way more times than I care to remember!! Three things you might want to think about if you are feeling this way….

•Have a close friend, trainer, or family member that you feel comfortable talking to about your experience. Many times you will realize that other’s have the same feelings and frustrations as you do. It’s nice to get a new perspective and see things you may not have realized or thought about. Seek out someone that has had success and ask questions.

•Be patient and love yourself for who you are today! It takes time to make lasting changes and your thoughts can affect your progress. I read on a yoga website one time, BE KIND AND LOVING TO YOURSELF BY ACCEPTING WHERE YOU ARE. Rest sometimes. Do what you can, with what you have, with where you are.

•A healthy weight loss is 1 to 2 lbs per week. We will all lose weight differently. Our weight fluctuates on an hourly, daily, and weekly basis… It’s more important to focus on the trend over time. You may weigh in every week, but see how your trend is going once a month. Is your weight going down? How are you feeling? Is this a lifestyle you can maintain for the long haul? Adjustments may need to be made from time to time, but if you continue to experiment with what works for your body, you will be successful!

In my personal experience, the slower the weight came off, the more lasting it was. A leader of mine once said, if you can’t imagine yourself eating this way for the next 5 years or more, then you are probably following more of a “diet” and less of a lifestyle change. I hope some of those ideas are helpful!

What ideas and suggestions would you tell someone who is just beginning their healthy lifestyle?? I would love to hear a fresh perspective!!
