Keeping a food journal will help you:
*Account for what you eat – This is definitely true! It helped me to be honest about exactly what I was eating! You really can’t hide from a picture. It definitely made me think twice! I realized early on that I needed to start incorporating more fruits and vegetables!
*Identify problem times - I was definitely more aware of my need to eat every 2.5 to 3 hours. If I went longer than that… I would get really hungry and make poor choices. I also noticed trends in my monthly cycle. If anything else… it helped me to make better plans to combat those times.
*Control portions - Weight Watchers helped me to realize what a proper portion should be… Seeing the proper portion helped a LOT!!!
*Treat yourself! - Life is not meant to be all fruits and veggies! There are times that we need to relax and enjoy the desserts! I loved being able to look back on my week and know that I had eaten pretty good…. I love making cookies and treats on the weekends!
